Narayanganj is the nearest district to the capital city Dhaka. It takes a very short time to reach this district by bus from Dhaka via the road, or by train from Kamalapur railway station via the railway. There are bus services available from Gulistan to Shital, Bandhan, Utsab, Himachal, and BRTC, with buses running every 5 minutes. In addition to that, regular bus services connect Dhaka with other sub-districts of this district. Since Narayanganj is located on one of the major rivers of the country, the river port, along with launches, provides easy transportation via waterways.
